The CDT100 is Ypsilon’s top loader CD player and transport. A Transport's primary objective is to retrieve the digital data from a CD-disc with great accuracy. The laser is extremely sensitive to vibrations, a condition which triggers the error correction mechanism. A direct consequence of triggering the error correction mechanism is a deterioration in the sound.
After evaluating several CD mechanisms, Ypsilon concluded that the Phillips CD Pro-II provided more detail, texture and the essence of music. The mechanism is mechanically modified and assembled within a massive construction of a sandwich of thick stainless steel and aluminum plates. In this way, the traditional box shaped chassis is avoided and along with that the associated resonance problems are greatly reduced. The result is a solid, coherent construction that in combination with the
suspension system provides vibration free operation.
The CDT 100 is a stand-alone product which will outperform many highly regarded separate Transport and Dac combinations. It carries a Spdif out put so it can be linked to any outboard DAC. But for ultimate performance, which will astonish all who encounter the combination, then via the 5 pin output to the Ypsilon DAC-100. Truly, a world class combination.
Ypsilon have created a CD player which not only looks like a classic vinyl turntable but also performs like one.
